My Voices allows patients to train using the voice of a loved one. Training with a familiar voice helps users improve listening skills faster and better understand the people they care about most.
What is My Voices?
My Voices captures a short audio sample from someone close to the patient, like a spouse, child, or friend. That voice is then used in training exercises, replacing the standard narrator for select prompts.
How to enable My Voices
- Go to My Voices
From the home screen, tap "My Voices". - Tap "Invite"
Choose to invite a loved one via text or email. When inviting by text, make sure to select the correct country code associated with the phone number. - Enter the participant’s info
They’ll be asked to:
- Enter their name (this name will appear during training)
- Upload a photo (optional; if added, this will appear during training)
- Participant records their voice
- The invited participant will receive a secure link to record a short 30 second voice sample.
- Voice is processed
- Once the recording is complete, we’ll notify you in-app when the voice is ready to use. The voice will appear under “My Voices.”
How it works in training
- Your familiar voice will automatically be used in Speech in Noise and Rapid Speech exercises.
- It will randomly alternate with the default voice so you get varied listening practice.
Privacy and security
We know many patients ask whether their loved one’s voice can ever be used outside of their training. Here’s how we protect it:
-
Private to you: Only you will ever hear the recorded voice during training. It is never shared, sold, or reused outside your account.
-
Securely stored: All voice recordings are encrypted and kept on secure servers.
-
Full control: The participant (or you) can delete a voice at any time, and it will be permanently removed.
-
Not used for anything else: Voices are never used for marketing, product development, or by other patients.
Notes
- My Voices is not available during a free trial.
- Default voices will continue to be used for exercises not covered by familiar voices.
Tips for best results
- Ask someone you speak with regularly to record their voice.
- Choose someone you struggle to understand, it makes the training more effective.
