Your tinnitus tone helps personalize therapy. You’ll set it when you first start Tinnitus Pro and you can change it anytime later.
Before you start
- Find a quiet place and use headphones if possible.
- Set your device volume low, then slowly raise it until you can hear both your tinnitus and the sound from the app.
- If you wear hearing aids, use your normal listening setting.
Set your tone during onboarding
- In the “My tinnitus tone” screen, drag the dot on the grid to match what you hear.
- Up / down = high / low pitch
- Left / right = wide band / narrow band (broad vs. specific sound)
- Up / down = high / low pitch

- Tap Next when it sounds close.
Fine-tune for precision
- On the next screen, make small moves with the dot until it’s the closest match.
- Tap Next (or Continue) to save.
You can change it later at any time.
Change your tone later
- Open Tinnitus Pro.
- Go to Home screen → Change my tinnitus tone

- Repeat the match and fine-tune steps above, then save.
Tips
- If your tinnitus is a pure ring, stay toward the Tone side; if it’s a hiss, move toward Noise.
- If you hear more than one sound, match the most bothersome one.
- You can adjust again after a few days if your perception changes.
Troubleshooting
- I can’t tell if it matches. Lower the volume, then increase slowly. Try moving toward Noise or Tone until the quality feels right, then adjust pitch.
- It’s too loud / uncomfortable. Stop and reduce the volume immediately.
