How do streaks work?

Training a little every day is one of the best ways to get the most out of Lace Pro, and your streak helps you keep track. This article explains how your streak is counted, what happens if you miss a day, and how vacation days protect a long streak.

What is a streak?

Your streak is the number of days in a row that you have completed your daily training. You can see it at the top of your home screen:

• Current streak is how many days in a row you have trained, up to today.
• Max streak is your longest streak ever.

You can also find your streak on the leaderboard in My progress.

Life happens. If you miss a day of training, your streak doesn't end right away. Instead, it pauses, and we'll send you a reminder. You have a 2-day grace period to get back to training.

• Train within 2 days and your streak carries on from where it paused.
• Miss more than 2 days in a row and your streak ends, unless you have vacation days (see below). The next day you train, a new streak starts at 1.

Days you miss don't add to your streak, but they don't take anything away either.

Example: You train every day for 10 days, miss days 11 and 12, then train again on day 13. Your streak is still alive, and on day 13 it shows 11.

Your grace period is ready for you again every time you complete a day of training.

Vacation days are a reward for patients who train consistently over a long stretch. They give your streak extra protection when you need a break.

How to earn vacation days

When you reach a 90-day streak, you earn 10 vacation days. You'll see a congratulations screen at the end of your training that day.

How vacation days are used

Vacation days are used automatically, so there's nothing you need to do. Your 2-day grace period always comes first. If you miss a third day in a row, a vacation day is used to keep your streak alive, and each additional missed day after that uses one more. Vacation days are only used if you've earned them.

Days covered by a vacation day don't add to your streak count, but your streak keeps going. When you're back to training, your streak picks up where it left off.

You can't choose when to use a vacation day or save them for later.

Where to see your vacation days

Once you've earned vacation days, you'll see how many you have left on the leaderboard and in Settings. Tap vacation days left or the information icon next to it for a quick explanation.

Vacation days only appear when you have at least one.

Yearly refill

Once each calendar year, your vacation days are topped back up to 10, as long as you have an active streak of 90 days or more at that time.

If your streak ends

When a streak ends, any vacation days you have left are removed. Build a new streak to 90 days to earn 10 vacation days again.

Depending on your notification settings, you may get these reminders by push notification or text message:

• Streak paused: sent when you miss a day, so you know to train within your 2-day grace period to keep your streak alive.
• One vacation day left: sent when you're down to your last vacation day.

Tapping a reminder takes you straight into the app so you can start your training.

No need to worry about time zones. We'll do our best to adjust your streak as you travel, so just keep training as usual wherever you are.

Frequently asked questions

Does a paused day count toward my streak?

No. Missed days covered by your grace period or a vacation day keep your streak alive, but they don't add to the count.

I already had a streak of 90 days or more before vacation days were introduced. Do I get them?

Yes. Every patient with an active streak of 90 days or more when vacation days launched received 10 vacation days.

Can I choose when to use a vacation day?

No. Vacation days are used automatically, one for each missed day after your 2-day grace period.

Can I get my streak back after it ends?

No. Once a streak ends, it can't be restored. The grace period and vacation days are there so that a missed day or two doesn't cost you your progress.
